Oniric Dream I, BUU (2023)
Oniric Dream I, BUU marks a turning point in Plaza's artistic path: a work that delves into memory and the subconscious as territories where the images that shape us reside.
The painting reinterprets an archetypal childhood figure —the one that first sparked the artist’s desire to draw—, proposing a reconciliation between what we once were and what we continue to be.
A beam of light cuts through the composition as a metaphor for consciousness: a force that reveals and dissolves fragments of identity.
The central character is deconstructed into geometric planes and overlapping faces, each carrying its own emotional tone.
The piece reflects on multiplicity —on the coexistence of masks and contradictions— through a symbolic and cubist language that portrays the movement between inner states.
Oniric Dream I, BUU becomes a celebration of unlearning: a return to the essential gaze, where memory and creation merge in freedom.
