Ghost I (2024)

Ghost I reinterprets the popular imagery of PAC-MAN as a metaphor for contemporary life and its cycles of power, fear, and opportunity.

Plaza deconstructs one of the game's ghosts and turns it into a symbol—suspended between irony and social critique.

The work examines the shifting roles of hunter and hunted, a duality that defines both the gameplay and the individual’s place within modern systems. The duplicated eyes embody this tension: one exerts control, the other recoils.

The pixelated geometry of the digital icon merges with curving, tactile brushwork, bringing a physical dimension that challenges the flat logic of the screen.

More than nostalgia, Ghost I is a meditation on the human condition in the age of consumption—a reminder that even within the tightest maze, there is always a moment to reverse the chase.
