Open Fracture investigates the contradiction
between inhabiting a single body and not necessarily experiencing ourselves as
a single person.

Across the diptych, the body is
fragmented, multiplied and reorganised into two opposing states. In one work,
different presences accumulate and share the same space; in the other, the
figure expands and its parts separate. Both question the appearance of unity we
associate with the body.

The fracture does not represent a
physical rupture or a literally divided identity. Instead, it makes visible the
coexistence of thoughts, emotions, memories and desires that can belong to us
simultaneously without forming a stable whole.

Within Inhabit, Open
Fracture pushes the investigation of the body as an inhabited place towards
one of its fundamental contradictions: being one, yet experiencing ourselves as
multiple.
